Reviews: Wheeler's Yard
Wheeler's Yard

Sun: 10:30 am - 10:00 pm
Scrolling through my timeline on Instagram, there's always people that I follow taking picture with this blue colour background. That's right, it's the popular and famous Wheeler's Yard. You can't tell people you went there before without taking the mandatory Wheeler's Shot.
My friend's family owned this place and so.... I decided to head down to try the food as well as take some nice pictures. The place isn't really hard to find as it's just a 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop. I took a bus from Toa Payoh to Balestier Shaw Plaza. I'm impressed by the whole concept the cafe adopted. It is based on a bicycle workshop concept and there's hundreds of bikes there. Personally, I would say the concept is one of the best thus far.
One of their signs at the entrance.
The cafe is split into two different areas - Outdoor and Indoor. I really like the outdoor concept but it was way too hot that day. There's lots of decorations like the bike statue and helmets on the wall at the interior. Even their toilet is pretty cool. It is definitely spacious and there's also plenty of sofa seats.
There's plenty of seats outdoor.
Indoor is much more cooling though.
They do serve a variety of food and drinks but I got to say that all the hype just came back as disappointment. The food was at best average.
My friend ordered this Otah Burger.
My friend recommended me the Chicken Yard burger.
The tiramisu cake. Not great but passable.
In all, would say that the price is too high for the quality of food that they serve. However, I would still recommend the Chicken Yard Burger as I felt it's pretty good.
While leaving the cafe from the backdoor, I see a lot more bikes. Really love the whole concept and how they put in so much effort to beautify the place.
My favorite bike! It's so retro looking.
In all, although the food standard is subnormal, I would still recommend you guys to visit this place at least once. Why? Because this place is really for hipsters! Epitome of a hipster cafe! Bring along some magazines or books to chill on a lazy afternoon.
For Instagrammers, you guys can definitely be able to take some nice shots here.
Sorry for the lack of post as I'm really busy with school work. I am in the midst of crafting our my next post on D' Good Cafe and my BKK Trip! Labels: Brunch, cafe, food, reviews Friday, August 15, 2014
I've got Style Top 18
Being in I-weekly's inaugural I've Got Style contest is surreal and I truly gained many experiences and made many new friends who all have their own unique style. I'm truly honored to be scouted by I-weekly team. I was so surprised when they emailed and called me that i got shortlisted by them. I was hesitant initially as I have to commit for one month. I'm glad I did not as it was one of the highlight for my summer holiday. It was all made better as my bestie Sandy was in this competition too!
So I headed down to Mediacorp for my Editorial Shoot! It's not my first time there but I get to explore more places in there.
While waiting for my makeup and hair stylist!
Behind the scenes for my shoot! I was actually given a suit but the sizing was wrong so I got myself a more casual look eventually.
And Ta-da! Myself on I-weekly and a short interview as well!
It's on 8 Days and Today newspaper too!
There are bound to have people being skeptical and talking about it but I guess it's part and parcel of life. They have got their own opinions and I'm in no position or has rights in stopping them from what they want to say. At least I'm trying out something new and things that most people do not get to try. That's all I gotta say.
For the final showdown, I need to showcase 2 outfits. One is the minimalistic outfit and the other is one other outfit that I choose myself from the sponsors - Aeropostale, Levis, Skechers and New Look!
Thanks to the Skechers staff for helping me get my sizing early in the morning!
My stylist for the day at Levis!
This large backdrop at ION! See me?
Doing my rehearsal at 8.30am.
The ladies doing their walk.
What happened backstage. Doing my makeup and my hair.
A selfie with erm. myself.
Of course a group shot first before the real thing starts!
With the guys!
Not forgetting a shot with Sandy first. It was such a coincidence we got the same theme together and we certainly did not discuss together to wear an all-white outfit.
LET THE SHOW BEGINS!
Minimalistic outfit
Minimalist guys
In my head: Oh shit! Why interview me first!?
Well at least my answers are not himbotic! :)
Outfit 2!
Outfit 2 - Choose the outfit that best describe yourself

All of us on the stage!
A final group shot before it all ends!
Finale Highlights! I got a few close up in the video. HAHA!
My best competitor.
My ever supportive parents. My mom actually bought a few copies of I-weekly hahaha!
To end it off, I'm really glad I accepted the offer and I experienced something different and once in a lifetime kinda thing. Thanks Mediacorp, I-weekly, Skechers and Levis for the outfit and makeup! Lastly, thanks to all my friends that came down to cheer for me and even made banners for me! *Touched* It was really a great experience and I think I did something different and fun this holiday.
In the meantime: Back to School!
